Indian Budget 2026: 5 University Townships In Major Logistics Corridor

Through the challenge path, the Indian government will assist states in developing five university townships close to important industrial and logistical corridors. Numerous universities, colleges, research facilities, skill centers, and residential complexes will be located in these planned academic zones. Long study sessions and lab work provide some difficulties for female students at higher education STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) institutes. Every district will have one hostel for girls, thanks to VGF (Viability Gap Funding) and capital support.

Budget 2026: 4 Telescope Infrastructure Facilities & Orange Economy

To promote Astrophysics and Astronomy via immersive experiences, 4 Telescope Infrastructure facilities will be created or upgraded -the National Large Solar Telescope, the National Large Optical Infrared Telescope, the Himalayan Chandra Telescope and the COSMOS2 Planetarium. Budget 2026: Biopharma SHAKTI Scheme With 3 New NIPER

It has been noted that non-communicable diseases like diabetes, cancer, and autoimmune disorders are becoming more prevalent in India. Biologic medications are key to longevity and quality of life at affordable pricing. This budget suggests the Biopharma SHAKTI, which would require an investment of ₹10,000 crores over the next 5 years, in order to establish India as a global centre for biopharma manufacture.

The ecosystem for producing biologics and biosimilars domestically will be strengthened as a result. The Strategy will feature a Biopharma-focused network with 3 new National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) and upgrading 7 current ones. It would also develop a network of over 1000 accredited Indian Clinical Trials sites. It proposes to strengthen the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation to meet global standards and approval timescales through a dedicated scientific review cadre and specialists.

Budget 2026: Education to Employment & Enterprise Committee

The new central budget 2026-27 suggests setting up a High-Powered ‘Education to Employment and Enterprise’ Standing Committee to recommend actions that focus on the Services Sector as a core driver of Viksit Bharat. This will make the country a global leader in services, with a 10% global share by 2047. The Committee will target regions to enhance the potential for growth, employment and exports. Additionally, they will evaluate how occupations and skill requirements are affected by developing technology, such as artificial intelligence, and suggest solutions.

Budget 2026: 5 Regional Medical Hubs For Medical Education

To promote India as a hub for medical tourism services, the latest union budget proposes to introduce a scheme to support states in establishing 5 Regional Medical Hubs, in conjunction with the private sector. These hubs will act as integrated healthcare complexes that combine medical, educational and research services. They would have AYUSH Centres, Medical Value Tourism Facilitation Centres and infrastructure for diagnosis, post-care and rehabilitation. These Hubs will provide diverse career opportunities for health professionals, including doctors and AHPs.

Budget 2026: New National Institute of Design In Easter India

Despite the fast growth of the Indian design sector, there remains a dearth of Indian designers. In order to improve design education and development in eastern India, the new Union Budget 2026-27 suggests creating a new National Institute of Design via the challenge method. It suggests lowering the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) TCS (Tax Collected at Source) rate from 5% to 2% for educational and medical expenses.

The recent Union Budget 2026-2027 recommends specific steps for embedding AI in the education curriculum from school level onwards and upgrading State Councils of Educational Research and Training institutes for teacher training.

Budget 2026: Promoting Veterinary & Para-Veterinary Education

Nearly 16% of farm income, including that of low-income and marginal households, comes from livestock. The new central budget 2026-2027 suggests implementing a loan-linked capital subsidy support program for the establishment of veterinary and paraveterinary colleges, veterinary hospitals, diagnostic labs, and breeding facilities in the private sector in order to increase the number of veterinary professionals available by over 20,000. Additionally, cooperation between Indian and foreign institutions would be promoted.
