UPSC Civil Service Examination 2018 eligibility criteria

Educational Qualification: The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Age Relaxation: Age relaxation will be as per following table.

Nationality: Applicants should be:

1. For the Indian Administrative Service and the Indian Police Service, a candidate must be a citizen of India.
2. For other services, a candidate must be either:—

(a) a citizen of India, or

(b) a subject of Nepal, or

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Provided further that candidates belonging to categories (b), (c) and (d) above will not be eligible for appointment to the Indian Foreign Service.

A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary, may be admitted to the examination but the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him/her by the Government of India.

UPSC application fee 2018

Fee charges: Applicants who wanted to participate for UPSC should pay the below charges through Cash to SBI branch bank or by using net banking facility of the SBI or by using visa/master credit/debit card.

• SC/ST/PWD/Women: Exempted Fee
• Others: Rs. 100/- (Rupee one hundred only)

Interested and eligible aspirants can apply online form the website www.upsconline.nic.in from 07.02.2018 to 06.03.2018.

How to apply for UPSC vacancies 2018:-

1. Open the website www.upsconline.nic.in
2. Click on the Link “ONLINE APPLICATION FOR VARIOUS EXAMINATION OF UPSC”
3. Select the desired post and click on “Click here (Part-I)”
4. Fill all the details mandatory fields like name, gender, etc. and click on “Continue”
5. System will generate Registration-ID, retain it for further use
6. Make payment as mentioned in application fee and retain details for entering in Part-II Registration
7. Again relogin and click on “Click Here (Part-II)”
8. Login by using Registration-ID & Date of Birth
9. Fill all the required details and upload scanned photo and signature and click on “Submit Button”
10. After submission of online application take the print out of filled application for future reference.
