1. Revised Guidelines For The Biomass Programme

Under the National Bioenergy Program, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has unveiled updated rules for the Biomass Program. The fiscal years 2021-2022 through 2025-2026 will see these modifications take effect. The revisions are intended to promote the use of biomass technologies throughout India and provide cleaner energy options. The goal is to make MSME businesses more efficient and less burdened by bureaucracy.

The incorporation of Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring technologies is a significant aspect of the updated guidelines. These affordable technologies take the role of more costly alternatives like SCADA. 2. India Energy Stack By Ministry Of Power

To transform India's energy industry, the Ministry of Power launched the India Energy Stack (IES). A unified and interoperable digital infrastructure is the goal of this project. India's energy sector has both opportunities and problems as it moves closer to its Net Zero aspirations and a $5 trillion GDP. Rapid developments in electric vehicles and renewable energy demand a strong digital foundation.

3. NIF Progress Report 2025

India has made significant progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), according to the National Indicator Framework (NIF) Progress Report 2025. Since 2015-16, it shows advancements in areas including social protection, education, and health. But there are still issues in areas like inequality and sustainable energy.

According to the data, social protection coverage has significantly increased. In 2025, 64.3% of the population was covered, up from 22% in 2016. 4. Highest Railway Arch Bridge In The World

The Chenab Rail Bridge spans the Chenab River in the Indian union region of Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. It is a 1,315-meter (4,314 feet) steel and concrete bridge that crosses the river gorge. The structure comprises a deck arch bridge that is 785 meters (2,575 feet) long and an approach bridge that is 530 meters (1,740 feet) long. 

The arch bridge is the highest rail bridge and arch bridge in the world, rising 359 meters (1,178 feet) from the riverbed to the deck. On the Jammu–Baramulla route, it is situated between the Kauri and Bakkal train stations. It cost Rs 14.86 billion to build the bridge. The Indian Railways’ Konkan Railway Corporation was in charge of the project.

5. Bihar: 1st State To Implement Mobile-Based E-Voting

Using the E-SECBHR software created by C-DAC, Bihar became the first Indian state to test electronic voting via mobile phones in municipal elections. The program sought to increase the voting count by senior citizens, pregnant women, and those with disabilities. The system employed blockchain technology, biometric scanning, facial recognition, voter ID verification, and a maximum of two voters per cellphone number to guarantee security and transparency.

6. Miss World 2025: Opal Suchata Chuangsri From Thailand

On June 1, 2025, in Hyderabad, Thailand's Opal Suchata Chuangsri became the country's first-ever Miss World champion. Royal Challengers Bangalore won the 18th edition of IPL 2025 by defeating Punjab Kings. South Africa won their first title by defeating Australia by 5 wickets in the final. Additionally, this was their second ICC trophy since 1998.

8. Kumram Bheem Conservation Reserve

To preserve a crucial tiger corridor that connects the Kawal Tiger Reserve with Maharashtra's Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve and other sanctuaries, covering an area of about 1,492 sq. km. Kumram Bheem Conservation Reserve was established in Telangana, India. In addition to supporting resident and transient tigers, sloth bears, leopards, and more than 240 bird species, including the Long-billed Vulture, it is an essential link for tiger mobility throughout Central India. 

Section 36A of the Wildlife Protection Act of 1972 created the reserve, and a management committee, including local and non-governmental organisations, has been constituted. It aims to protect a critical wildlife corridor, particularly for tiger dispersal and habitat connectivity between protected areas in Telangana, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh.

9. Indian Air Force Exercise ‘Tiger Claw’ With USA’s Counterpart

The Tiger Claw exercise, which took place across North India from May 26 to June 10, 2025, and ended at the Garud Regimental Training Centre in Chandinagar, Uttar Pradesh, was the first-ever independent Special Forces exercise between the Indian Air Force (IAF) Garud Special Forces and the United States Air Force (USAF) Special Forces. Interoperability, combat preparedness, and combined operational skills in air-based special operations – including tactics like hostage rescue and behind-enemy-lines operations – were the main objectives of the joint exercise.

10. Tripura: Third Indian State With 100% Literacy

Under the ULLAS, or Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram (New India Literacy Programme), a centrally sponsored initiative that ran from 2022 to 2027, Tripura was proclaimed totally literate. Along with neo-literate students and community members who were instrumental in this life-changing experience, the Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, and senior government representatives graced the declaration ceremony.

Speaking to the audience, Manik Saha praised the event as a significant turning point in Tripura's progress towards full literacy. He said with pride that Tripura's literacy rate has risen to 95.6%, a remarkable increase from just 20.24% in 1961, making it the third state in the nation to reach complete literacy, after Mizoram and Goa.
